WoW addons not saving settings

Settings live in WTF. Copying the addon folder to a new PC will not bring your profile.

Where settings sit

CurseForge's migration note is about Interface and WTF together. Interface is the code. WTF is the saved variables, split by account and sometimes by character. A profile picker inside the addon can hide a character-specific setting that is actually saved.

The 23 Sep 2026 video about Forever not saving describes the beta client and a WT Fix workaround. I have one source, and it is pre-launch. I am not telling live players to install that workaround.

A full UI reset is a rename of Cache, Interface and WTF, not a delete. Wowhead's install guide is the place that pattern comes from. OneDrive or a read-only WTF is a gap. I will not describe a permissions bug I cannot cite.

Questions

I reinstalled and my bars reset.

The new folder did not include WTF. Copy the account directory from the old machine, or accept the default profile.
