WoW addons not showing up
Five causes cover an empty addon list: wrong flavor, nested folder, checkbox, out-of-date box, or no Interface folder yet.
Causes
Forever players hit the beta folder. A 5 Nov 2026 forum thread says CurseForge wrote files into Forever Beta. The live folder is _forever_.
A doubled Interface\Interface path is the migration post's first way to lose an addon. The toc has to be exactly one folder below AddOns.
The character screen has an AddOns button. Disabled is invisible in play. "Load out of date" clears after a patch. Wowhead documents that reset.
If Interface does not exist, launch the flavor once. The wiki notes the folder is created by the client, not by the installer.
| What you see | What it usually is |
|---|---|
| CurseForge says installed, game list empty | Wrong flavor folder |
| "Belongs to…" | Zip is for another client |
| Folder exists, addon missing | Toc is nested one level too deep |
Questions
Where do I look in game?
Character select, AddOns button, before you enter the world. That screen is the list. The Escape menu is only for addons that already loaded.
