Add WoW Forever to CurseForge
In the app, choose the Forever flavor and scan _forever_. A beta path will install addons the live client cannot see.
In the app
Install the CurseForge app from CurseForge. Add World of Warcraft if it is missing, then pick Forever rather than retail or a classic branch. If the scan misses the client, browse to the _forever_ directory yourself. The launch post describes a Forever category and one-click installs. The category id in that post's link is 88568. I am quoting the id as a link parameter, not as something you type into the game.
A "Belongs to…" warning means the zip is for a different flavor. CurseForge's addon FAQ says so. Switch the app to the flavor that owns the file, or download the Forever build of that addon.
On Steam Deck the app cannot see the prefix until you paste it. That limit is in the SteamDeckHQ guide. Linux AppImage behavior for Forever is a gap. I am not describing a click I have not seen documented.

Questions
The addon installed but the game list is empty.
Check you scanned _forever_ and not Forever Beta. Then enable the addon on the character screen. The missing-addon page lists the other causes.
