Install WoW addons on Mac
The default client lives in /Applications/World of Warcraft. Pick _retail_, _forever_, or another flavor before Interface/AddOns.
Finder path
The Warcraft Wiki records the Mac root as /Applications/World of Warcraft/. Inside it, each flavor is a folder. Retail is _retail_. Forever is _forever_. MoP Classic is _classic_. Era and Hardcore share _classic_era_. TBC Anniversary is _anniversary_ on the ElvUI wiki, and that directory name has one source. If your disk shows a different name, trust the disk.
Archive Utility sometimes wraps a zip in an extra directory. After you unzip, open the addon folder and look for the toc. If you have to click twice to see it, move the inner folder up.
I do not have a sourced difference between Apple silicon and Rosetta for addon loading. The path is the same. I am leaving that gap empty rather than filling it.
- /Applications/World of Warcraft/_retail_/Interface/AddOns
- /Applications/World of Warcraft/_forever_/Interface/AddOns
Questions
Does the Windows path apply?
No. Use the Applications folder above. The Windows Program Files path is a different page in the folder table.
