Install WoW addons without CurseForge
WowUp, the Wago app, and a manual zip cover most addons. WowUp offers a CurseForge edition and a Wago edition; select the provider that carries the addon.
What replaces the app
WowUp reads Tukui and GitHub, plus either CurseForge or Wago according to the chosen edition. Select its CurseForge edition for a CurseForge-only project, or download the author zip and follow the manual steps.
The Wago app is the path for packs and auras that live on wago.io. It is not a mirror of every CurseForge project either.
People also ask whether CurseForge is safe. The app is the vendor's own installer from curseforge.com. I am not reviewing unrelated repack sites. If the download is not the vendor or the author, do not run it. This site does not host installers.
| Tool | Sees | Misses |
|---|---|---|
| WowUp | Tukui, GitHub, plus CurseForge or Wago by edition | The other edition’s catalog |
| Wago app | Wago catalog | Projects that never publish there |
| Zip file | Whatever the author posted | Automatic updates |
Questions
Is a manager required?
No. A zip and the right folder are enough. Updates become your job.
