CurseForge for WoW

CurseForge's desktop app is the manager most WoW searches mean. It installs one flavor at a time. Forever is a flavor in that list, and the app can scan a folder you point at. The WoW Forever category on the site is the catalog. The app is the installer. This page is about the installer problems, not about the brand homepage.

Record

The failure I keep seeing in the Forever forum is a successful install into the wrong directory: Forever Beta, the old _classic_beta_ tree, instead of _forever_. The addon then exists on disk and is invisible in the live client. CurseForge's own help text calls the matching warning "Belongs to…" and explains it as the wrong flavor. Those are two sources for the same mistake.

Sync and profiles are CurseForge features. They do not move a WTF folder by themselves. Settings still live under WTF. A fresh scan that "reinstalls" an addon will not restore a profile you never copied.

WowUp and the Wago app are the other managers on this site. CurseForge cannot see every GitHub release WowUp can, and WowUp catalog access depends on whether its CurseForge or Wago edition is installed. Pick the manager that matches where the author publishes. The comparison page is the place for that table.
