ElvUI for WoW
ElvUI 16.01 is the interface suite I send people to when they want bars, unit frames, the minimap, chat and bags from one config. Tukui lists the download. The GitHub install note names three folders: ElvUI, ElvUI_Options and ElvUI_Libraries. Dropping only the first folder leaves the options window broken.
Compatibility and installation
The same 16.01 tag carries interface 120105 for retail 12.1.5 and 16001 for Forever. I am keeping both numbers. I am not treating a Forever toc line as a promise that every Midnight module still exists. Icy Veins reported ElvUI back for Midnight on 27 Jan 2026, with a smaller feature set than the pre-Midnight build.
Saved variables are ElvDB and ElvPrivateDB. Those files live in WTF. Replacing the addon folders does not move a profile. The install note also says not to paste a new zip over an old folder. Delete the three folders, then unzip.
Shadow and Light is a separate plugin people stack on ElvUI. I am not folding it into this page's version number. If you only need bag slots, Baganator is the narrower tool. If you only need bars, Dominos is the narrower tool. ElvUI is the one that replaces the whole frame.
Keep the ElvUI release tag separate from plugin tags when comparing updates. A Shadow and Light download does not establish the version of the base suite. Likewise, the presence of a retail TOC in the package identifies a target client, while the accompanying release notes explain which features that target actually receives.

Where do I put ElvUI?
Unzip so the folder ElvUI (+ ElvUI_Options, ElvUI_Libraries) sits in that client's Interface/AddOns directory. The folder table lists the client path.
Does ElvUI have a Midnight build?
