Spoken for WoW

Spoken is the voice-reading addon by rustykey. The command is /sp. It is built as more than one folder: the core plus voice packs that you enable separately. Installing the core without a voice pack gives you a silent button. That split is the reason a single zip can look "installed" and still say nothing.

Compatibility and installation

The project is on CurseForge and is documented for Forever and Classic, not as a Midnight retail feature. I am not extending it onto 12.1.5. A guide on teamoverpowered walks through the Forever setup. That is a second source for "it exists on Forever," not a second version number.

Search interest spiked and the average is far lower, so I treat the page as a pulse. The voice-pack layout is still a real, stable fact. I am not guessing a monthly player count.

Blizzard's own combat audio alerts, described in the Midnight addon posts, are a different feature. They speak combat events. Spoken reads chat and quest text. They can both be installed only on clients where each one actually has a build.

A voice pack and the core reader are separate things to identify in a download list. Keep their package names when recording a working setup, because the core release number alone does not describe which speech files are present. A silence problem can concern the selected pack or enabled module without establishing that quest text is unavailable to the addon.

Questions

Where do I put Spoken?

Unzip so the folder Spoken, Spoken_Quests, Spoken_Places, Spoken_Readables sits in that client's Interface/AddOns directory. The folder table lists the client path.

Does Spoken have a Midnight build?

Forever and Classic only; no Retail build
