WeakAuras for WoW

WeakAuras 5.22.1 is the classic-branch display tool. The GitHub release on 10 Oct 2026 is built for Classic Era, TBC, Wrath, Cataclysm and MoP. I read the repository listing and did not find a retail Midnight toc on that tag. I am not going to call a community fork the same project.

Compatibility and installation

The WeakAuras team said they would not ship a Midnight version. Icy Veins covered that statement. Wowhead later covered a community fork named M33kauras that restores some raid displays. Both sentences stay on this page. "WeakAuras is back" would erase the split, so I will not write it.

The folder is WeakAuras. The command is /wa. Saved variables use WeakAurasSaved. Auras you import are data inside that saved file, not separate addon folders. Copying WTF is what moves a collection between machines.

Midnight players who want cooldown tracking now start from Blizzard's own cooldown manager, which the Midnight addon posts describe. Hekili, the rotation helper, stopped on its own timeline and is not a WeakAuras replacement. Displays that only rearrange frames, such as ElvUI, are a different question and stay available.

An imported aura and the addon engine have separate compatibility requirements. A Classic-targeted WeakAuras release is not a way to run an old retail combat aura on Midnight. Preserve the import text and saved-variable backup as an archive, and look for an author statement covering the intended engine, client branch and particular display before treating the import as current.

Unzip so the folder WeakAuras sits in that client's Interface/AddOns directory. The folder table lists the client path.
